Humility, Honour and Virtue

We are born egotists
Babies who think they are the centre of the world
That the universe revolves around us
We are by nature greedy and self-absorbed
It takes many years for us to realize the true nature
We aren't the centre of the universe
Some people may live and die without ever realizing this
Once people do learn it however humility follows
For people to become virtuous they must first learn this
Humility is the root of all goodness
Without humility one cannot learn honour
The true meaning of honour isn't about respect
Honour is being good and doing things without personal gain
From honour we learn genosity, compassion and courage
But to do anything we must first understand our meaninglessness
That we are no more important than any other
Humility isn't something you can teach easily
It takes time, trial after trial, and ultimately realization
