Poetry by Charles Moffat
How does one go about settling for less You tell yourself someone is perfect Yet you know you want something better Someone who is of a like mind With morals and opinions Someone who stands up for the truth And isn't afraid to take on the world Those tiny flaws that make up people They can annoy you at times And warm your heart at others Am I too much of a perfectionist? Do I expect too much? How could anyone bear my standards? Am I asking for too much? Should I settle for less? I know it seems heartless But how can one love someone who simply doesn't suit them? |
