Poetry by Charles Moffat
The Rising Sun Cutting through the grey Shredding the darkness And bearing its bright truth A powerful sign Able to enlighten and blind Some people see in the light Others are blinded by it Not all people are lucky enough To see its beauty They walk in despair Blinded by the light around them They cry and complain Call out in anguish But see no one to help them Those who offer their aid Are refused The blind are too afraid of the dark Afraid of strangers met in the dark Afraid of anyone who holds out a hand Especially those that see in the light Is not bothered by it Learns from it So walk in the sun dear friend And open your eyes to its beauty And open your heart to its truth And I will hold out my hand to help you |
